Properly called The Great Tower, the sculpture was commissioned by the International Arts Foundation. Sculptor is Alexander (just the one name) who is Australian. At the time it was the largest bronze sculpture, cast in London it was unveiled in Oct. 1980 (just goes to show how long it is since I was at that part of Rutland Water). I used to take my lunch breaks by the water but now you can only have 15 minutes for free - just long enough to rush in, take a picture and rush out!
