With our eldest about to take ownership of my current old runaround, and having previously only ever owned supremely practical and/or slow cars, it finally felt time to splurge on something indulgent and a little bit ridiculous. Enter this bright yellow, turbo charged, 180bhp shopping basket, which features one of the most addictive and raucous exhaust notes I've heard in a long time. I've been something of a closet petrol-head since my teenage years - and loved the classic hot hatches of the 90s, like the Mk. II Golf GTI and Renault 5 GT Turbo - and being able to now drive a modern-day equivalent any time I want is a long-held personal dream come true.
