Suffolk, a very good horse

March - Peter Chamberlin

In woodland an old metal plaque at ground level reads,
A memorial plaque remembering Suffolk, "a very good horse", near the Leader Water in the Scottish Borders, south of Earlston.

The memorial was erected in 1901 by Lt. Col. Alexander Borthwick MVO, Suffolk's owner, who was Chief Constable of Lothian and Peebles. He lived 1839-1914.
