This year I took part in the Tour O' The Borders, otherwise known as the "Touro". I did the short route (88km - short is a relative thing).
It was wonderful to ride the Borders roads, closed to traffic, with a thousand other cyclists. Sadly, it could be the last year for the Touro thanks to some locals who object to the road closures.
It seems a bit short sighted not to support an event that attracts a couple of thousand people to the area each year, and hopefully it'll be back on next year. If so I might try the long course (120km!).
